| SHRUB MAINTENANCE | |
| Shrubs and hedges are equally important, not just for providing colour or boundaries, but also for giving food and shelter to wildlife including birds, insects and mammals. Care is taken to minimise disturbance to wildlife, but also to avoid problems such as shrubs overhanging the paths or blocking windows. We plant annual bedding displays two times each year, normally in June and October, and in 2006 we replaced virtually all the roses within the entrance, main drive, and crematorium beds in Thornton Garden of Rest. |
