Another urban generation scheme has been recently completed at the Barrow Park, on behalf of the Borough of Barrow Council in Cumbria. This was probably the most high profile work that the engineering division has undertaken to date, and the project looks magnificent.

Working to the client's budget and brief Continental Landscapes can evaluate and produce a design which complements all aspects, soil types, location, building type and functionality.

Barrow Park Regeneration Scheme
A Contract on behalf of Leck Construction, working alongside Owen Williams the design consultant and Steve Warbrick from Barrow Borough Council.

The steps to the cenotaph had to be removed and totally replaced, all 97 of these had to run in line. There were 2 gaps to each step face and landing.

The path edges had to be installed. These consisted of steel edges which had to be bolted together. Once the depth was correct these had to have steel pins hammered in to stop the steel moving when the concrete was poured in. New drainage was installed which involved the mains sewerage, and the final survey was videoed through the pipework and a completed tape of the drainage system given to Barrow Borough Council.

This was probably the most high profile job that the engineering division has carried out, and the project on the steps is the centrepiece of the park, which will remain in the publics view for many years to come.
