Continental Landscapes Ltd Poole branch has successfully attained accreditation to BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 which is internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for those activities that have an effect on the environment including the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.

One of our key aims is to maintain the open spaces in Poole in a way which protects them for future generations with as little impact on the environment as possible by:

• Recording the amount of waste that we produce with the aim of increasing the amount of waste that is recycled year on year.

 
• Reducing the amount of waste produced by implementing a number of procedures and by asking our suppliers to assist us to reduce waste by reducing the amount of packaging.

 
• We insist that any companies that dispose of waste on our behalf do so in a way that has as little impact on the environment as possible. We also promote the use of peat free composts by our horticultural suppliers.

 
• Our staff are trained to recognise protected fauna and flora such as Sand Lizards, Orchids and Bats and our working methods are constantly scrutinized by our management team to ensure that we do not knowingly destroy habitats where such animals and plants may live.
