Looking after the grass, shrubs and hedges across the Borough means that your area looks well kept and helps to make public areas tidy and attractive. We operate four general grass cutting rounds and four landscape maintenance rounds across the Borough of Poole. Information on these and an update on progress can be accessed using the links below. We also operate schedules for cutting of banks, areas that are difficult to access and other places such as wildflower meadows and dual carriageways. In winter we undertake a programme of path edging where we remove grass that has grown over onto footpaths. This work is carried out once the grass has stopped growing and follows the four general grass cutting routes. Shrubs and hedges are important features, not just for providing colour or boundaries, but also for giving food and shelter to wildlife including birds, insects and mammals. Care is taken to minimize disturbance to wildlife, but also to avoid problems such as shrubs overhanging paths or blocking windows. Our work includes the provision and maintenance of the seasonal bedding displays within the town centre, on traffic islands and in local parks. The care of such scenic features is a specialist task involving good soil preparation, weeding, deadheading, and fertilising. An up to date fleet of machinery is used across the Borough and dedicated staff operate throughout the Borough of Poole. To find out where we are currently working, please click below:
