Fabulous
floral displays across the
country have seen Continental
Landscapes win a number
of Britain in Bloom Awards
this summer, despite the
drought.
A slow start to the summer
saw delays in the flowering
of many sites around the
country, a warm June brought
many colourful buds out
of hibernation but a record-breaking
July led to water shortages
and scorched lawns.
"It's great news all round,"
said Nick Broad, operations
director. "Our teams prove
time and again what they are
capable of and it's always good
to be recognised for this by
an outside body such as Britain
in Bloom." Continental Landscapes works alongside excellent
horticulturalists and in partnership with other parties to achieve
awards such as this.
"Making usually dull areas,
such as roundabouts, attractive
is important to people who pass
those areas every day and there
is an element of local pride,
and rivalry, as to who lives
in the best town. People living
in an area maintained by us
can feel confident that their
locale will be among the best
in Britain and these awards
prove it."
