| Annual bedding is an important part of the area's appearance. Much improvement has been made over the last few years, making the formal gardens wonderful places to visit with the spectacular floral displays.
Much work goes into these displays with weeding, dead heading, watering and soil preparation. This all contributes to the success it has brought to Fenland in the Britain in Bloom competition, especially St Peters Gardens in Wisbech. Shrub bed maintenance is also an important part of the work carried out by our team. Shrubs form a natural barrier or feature that can be used by humans or wildlife and can create a colourful, lush and natural shelter. Correct and regular pruning of these features help them to flourish whilst keeping them from encroaching on pathways and other areas. Formal hedges are cut twice a year, once in summer after nesting and once in winter. All other field hedges are done in winter only. |
